The picture on the left was taken when the subject was in a normal waking state.
It shows equal amount of activity in all parts of the brain, indicated by red
areas.
The picture on the right was taken while the subject was engaged in deep
meditation. This scan shows decrease in activity in one parietal lobe (located
on the right of the brain) , indicated by more yellow in the lower right. It
shows a blurring of the line that defines the self and a moment of intense
spirituality. It reaches its max when you put your forehead on the ground while
praying.
